This past weekend at the Adam’s Center marked a momentous achievement for my good friend, teammate, client, and now Amann Insurance Solutions’ first sponsored champion, Anthony Juckes. He stepped into the cage under the bright lights of Fusion Fight League and walked away with the lightweight title, cementing his place as one of the top fighters in the region. Seeing Anthony’s journey unfold firsthand has been nothing short of inspiring, and I couldn’t be prouder of him.
Anthony and I first crossed paths years ago at the tail end of our competitive wrestling days. We both shared a love for combat sports, competition, and pushing ourselves to be the best versions of ourselves. As life took us in different directions. Cutting my teeth in the final expense and Medicare industry while he was charting his own path down in the West Texas oil fields we’d still keep in touch. However, I was eventually successful in convincing Anthony and his fiancée, Jenna, to come back as well and join me in selling life insurance. At the time, it seemed like the perfect opportunity for all of us to build something great together.
But as fate would have it, Anthony found his true passion elsewhere. What started as a way to escape the office rah rah meetings and get in some jiu-jitsu training quickly turned into a full-fledged pursuit of MMA. He dedicated himself completely to the sport, refining his skills day in and day out, and over the weekend, all that hard work paid off in the biggest way possible.
Watching Anthony’s growth—both as a fighter and as a person—has been incredible. The discipline, dedication, and relentless mindset that he carries into every fight are the same qualities that made him a great teammate and friend. His title win is a testament to what happens when you follow your passion with everything you have, and I have no doubt that this is just the beginning for him.
